Dr. Emmanuel Godwin – Vice Board Chair
Dr. Emmanuel Godwin serves as the Deputy Chief of Party/Director of Programs for Heartland Alliance’s Nigeria program, supporting the PEPFAR funded through USAID Integrated MARPs HIV Prevention Program (IMHIPP), which is one of the largest MARPs-specific initiatives ever launched in the Global South. In this position, he directly supervises over 40 individuals and works to coordinate and provide HIV/AIDS services for key affected populations, their sexual partners and dependents in eight states of Nigeria. Dr. Godwin is one of the pioneer service providers of MARPs friendly health services in Nigeria and has contributed immensely to the general landscape of MARPs HIV programming in Nigeria. He has participated in MARPs focused HIV research in Nigeria and has publications in same regards to his name. Dr. Godwin has strong awareness of development issues and has worked in several donors funded programs. His first degree is in Medicine and Surgery and he has a Master’s degree in Sociology and currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health.
